The LAG Consortium’s governance structure is based on a standard NGO setup in accordance with the Georgian legislation. The initial Board is comprised of the heads of the four founding member NGOs and four former senior national NRC staff and is acting as the supreme norm- and strategy-setting body of the Consortium. Depending on the scope of the works vested in the Consortium, the Board created an executive unit / secretariat which is mandated to ensure day-to-day operations in accordance with the statute, policies, strategies and accepted external commitments / received grants. The Board retains the authority to decide on policy issues, developments and strategic priorities of the LAG Consortium and to approve (or not) the performance of the executive unit / secretariat. The LAG Consortium’s Chairman, who is appointed by the Board, is responsible to staff and manage the secretariat based on the needs and scope of work determined through received grants.
