In August 2017 the Consortium Legal Aid Georgia (LAG) successfully completed the “Supporting Human Rights and Protection of Internally Displaced People in Georgia” project implemented in partnership with international organization Save the Children and with financial support of the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (BPRM).

On August 1, 2017, Consortium Legal Aid Georgia (LAG) organized round table in Kutaisi with the representatives of the local self-government from Kutaisi and Tskaltubo. During the round table, the findings and accomplishments of the “Supporting Human Rights and Protection of Internally Displaced People in Georgia” project were presented and discussed. The project has been implemented by LAG in partnership with international organization Save the Children and with financial support by the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (BPRM). The meeting was concluded with signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the parties which entails strengthening cooperation among the signatory parties in the process of protection of IDPs and other vulnerable groups and increasing their access to state and municipal services.

LAG Consortium protection team has completed the cycle of workshops on “identification and response to gender-based violence” in Kutaisi and Tskaltub aiming to increase knowledge of local state structures. The workshops were conducted within “Supporting Human Rights and Protection of Internally Displaced People in Georgia” project. The goal of the project is to address human rights and protection challenges of Internally Displaced Persons through providing effective protection, referral, advocacy and capacity building services. The project is implemented by the “Consortium Legal Aid Georgia” (LAG) in partnership with “Save the Children” (SCI) and is funded by the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (BPRM).
