On December 14, 2017, the Consortium Legal Aid Georgia (LAG) organized training in Kopitnari IDP settlement on positive parenting, inclusive and other education opportunities. During the training participants actively discussed parenting management styles, upbringing methods and positive upbringing.
The meeting was organized within “Supporting Human Rights and Protection of Internally Displaced People in Georgia” project. The goal of the project is to address human rights and protection challenges of Internally Displaced Persons living in Rustavi, Gardabani, Tskaltubo and Kopitnari communities through providing effective protection, referral, advocacy and capacity building services. The project is implemented by the Consortium Legal Aid Georgia (LAG) in partnership with Save the Children (SC) and funded by the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (BPRM).

On December 7, 2017, the Consortium Legal Aid Georgia’s (LAG) psycho-social specialist conducted a group meeting with children in Gardabani IDP settlement. The meetings consisted of interactive exercises, games and art-therapy activities (painting), which were aiming to improve communication skills with peers, build trust among each other, develop empathy, increase self-confidence, and develop concentration and listening skills. After every exercise children were analysing their behaviour, opinions and emotions they had during the activity. As a result, these group meetings facilitated to comprehend their behaviour and manage their emotions appropriately.

The Consortium Legal Aid Georgia (LAG) supported the IDP initiative group from Gardabani to submit the social project funded by IDP Livelihood Agency. The project envisaged provision of chairs and bookcases to the Kindergarten #2 in Gardabani.
LAG facilitated the process in the framework of “Supporting Human Rights and Protection of Internally Displaced People in Georgia” project. The goal of the project is to address human rights and protection challenges of Internally Displaced Persons living in Rustavi, Gardabani, Tskaltubo and Kopitnari communities through providing effective protection, referral, advocacy and capacity building services. On November 17 and 22, 2017, the Consortium Legal Aid Georgia (LAG) organized trainings in Rustavi and Kopitnari IDP settlement on  IDP status, rights and entitlements, children with disabilities and social protection schemes, and child labor. The trainings enriched participants with knowledge and skills after which they will be able to individually access to services.

On November 18, 2017, the Consortium Legal Aid Georgia (LAG) together with Save the Children marked the European Day focusing on "The protection of children against sexual exploitation and sexual abuse facilitated by information and communication technologies (ICTs)”. Beneficiaries from Kopitnari IDP settlement were involved in the event and were encouraged to emphasize children’s rights and their protection. The aim of the event was to raise public awareness of abuse of children and the need for prevention.
